The Best Labor Weekend Ever!

The Brothers YZ (and their parents) had a great long weekend filled with family, friends, culture, adventure, and fun. The weather was perfect! Just going outside put everyone in a great mood, the Family YZ did more than that...

On Saturday, we traveled to Providence to share dinner and Waterfire with our close friend, Barbara. Evan was amazed to hear that Mommy and Papa used to, as as he says "supposed to," wear black and light the fires. Liam's eyes were as big as saucers as he looked down at the bonfires in the river. Unforunately, I forgot my camera so I cannot include any pictures of the event.

On Sunday, Evan spent the morning with Nana and Grampa taking a hike in the Rutland State Park, visiting some horses, and playing firefighers so that Mommy, Papa, and Liam could go to church. Later that day we went to the playground where Liam tried a swing for the first time and loved it. Then, we stopped at Flo's Farmstand where you can eat ice cream on a lovely hilltop and visit the cows, llamas, goats, and chickens.

On Monday, we enjoyed a visit from Uncle Steve and his wife, Susan, and Cousin Rhea along with Nana, Grampa, Aunt Meg, and Uncle Brian. Evan was in heaven with two of his favorite "big girls." In the afternoon, we went for a late summer swim at Rutland State Park. All in all, the weekend definitely could be the subject of a Richard Scarry book that Evan could reenact word for word. There are not enough long weekends in the year!
