As much fun as Evan has at St. Mary's Pre-School, he loves his days home with Mommy and Liam. And, I fear it will not be long before he feigns illness in order to increase these days as well as watch more than his usual amount of television. As much as I tried to keep today about restoration to good health, it is impossible not to have fun with The Brothers YZ. In the morning, Evan gave me a lecture on zoology complete with a Lego display of a fox on top of a mountain as pictured on the right. At lunch time, we paid a visit to Grampa to get out of the cleaning lady's way. Evan very much wanted to spend the afternoon in the garden, but Grampa managed to limit his garden activities to picking a handful of raspberries. Neither Evan nor Liam was very interested in napping so I had to take the long way home to lull them YZ to sleep and sat in the parking lot of Dunkin Donuts sipping ice coffee to extend the nap. Energized by their naps, The Brothers YZ had a great time clowning around with each other and their big yellow dog, Finbar.
Fortunately, that energy level did not continue throughout the evening, and the boys both had a calm and easy bedtime. As Greg remarked to me tonight, Evan is so much more gentle and obedient than usual when he is under the weather. Not that we would trade our spirited, healthy boys for the world...Still, at least there is some relief from the last few sleepless nights for Mommy and Daddy.
