A Taste of Spring

For the past two weekends, we have had a taste of spring in Holden with 50 degree plus weather on Saturday and Sunday. While it has been exciting to see the brown grass, sandbox, and swingset again, we are overwhelmed by the mess of branches and twigs left from the ice storm. We have a lot of work to do!

The Brothers YZ have taken advantage of every minute of the good weather getting lots of fresh air and sunshine. We have had several playdates with neighbors, and Evan taken his bike for a spin a couple of times. On Sunday, we decided to take the whole family (Finbar included) for a ride to get ice cream at Flo's Farmstand in Rutland. We were disappointed to find that Flo will not be serving ice cream until April 16th. Flo is one New Englander not fooled into thinking winter is really over. The Brothers YZ still enjoyed seeing the animals at the farm and watched the large heard of cows being fed.

Not to be deterred by our goal to have ice cream outside, we then headed to the Pinecroft Dairy in West Boylston. By that time, the sun wasn't as strong so we shivered as we ate our ice cream at the picnic table, but no one was complaining. And, unlike two weekends ago, we did not wake up to snow on Monday.
