The Budding Artist

Evan's drawing ability has been improving by leaps and bounds lately. Unfortunately, most of his pieces are done on his etch-a-sketch which suits his artistic personality but leaves us with nothing to document his progress. He likes his drawings to be perfect, and he will start his drawing over many times before getting it just right. The etch-a-sketch is a much greener mode of artistic expression. This morning we particularly impressed with his latest effort pictured to the left. In fact, when we found it on the kitchen table, we had to verify that it was one of Evan's drawings. (That doesn't say as much for our talents as Evan's.) Evan very casually told us that it was a drawing of a "sword duck." He also enjoys drawing maps of roads and railways and capturing emotion on the faces of people. My favorite of his latest drawing was a stick figure of Tom Brady with a line over the eyes because he was being serious not grumpy. I wish that I gotten a picture of that one, but he erased it as quickly as the Pats defense erased Tom's lead in the fourth quarter last night. Fortunately, the Brothers YZ cannot fully grasp the sorrow and frustration at the Pioneer House today.

Excellent work. When I was with him he drew Nicki and Jimmy's Nana in bed ... "because she's sick" he said.

His drawing abilities have really taken off!

His drawing techniques are just another Uncle Brian trait. He also loves to draw maps with railways and roads that remind me of you.
