Visit to the Holden Firehouse

A few weeks ago we bumped into the Holden paramedics on the way out of KPs Restaurant. Evan and Liam were very excited to have this rescue encounter, and the paramedics invited them to stop by the firehouse to check out the trucks whenever the doors were open. Of course, Evan has been asking me when we are going to stop by almost every day since then.

We got lucky today! The door was open when we arrived, and there was no emergency. Firefighter Sean let Evan and Liam climb into both the pumper and hook and ladder truck. He showed Evan the equipment and turned on the sirens. The boys got to try on the firefighter helmets. We even got to get into the back of the new ambulance, something we weren't allowed to do on Digger Day. The paramedic helped Evan to fix a "boo-boo" on Liam in the back of the ambulance.

We had a wonderful time and were honored when Evan's picture that he drew for the occcasion was placed on the firefighter bulletin board.
