Like Mother, Like Son

Yesterday we were at the Holden Library when Evan spotted a group of children younger than him sitting with their mothers. He said that he wanted to go teach them about animals and took a puzzle with animals over to them. He told the mothers, "I'm going to teach your children something." Then, he asked the children, "Who has any pets? If you have a dog, stand up." He gave the girl who had a dog the dog puzzle piece. Then, he proceeded with cats. Children that didn't have a pet got the more unusual animal puzzle pieces. After the lesson was over, he drew little pictures for each of his students and wrote his name on the note paper by the computers and distributed them to everyone. The whole scene reminded me of one of my favorite things to pretend play when I was young--school with me as the teacher.
