Liam Speaks
As is typical with a younger sibling, Liam has been slower to talk than any of his other developmental skills. For months, he has been consistently saying a few words including "Fa-Ba" for Finbar and all other dogs, rock, mine, ball, and car. Once in a while, he has spoken another word out of the blue never to repeat it again. He has been understanding just about everything we say to him and making all kinds of sounds. So we knew that it was only a matter of time before he started saying more words. Well, that time is now which is a good thing, because he has been increasing frustrated with our lack of understanding his language. Last weekend he started saying, "Mommy" and "Daddy." On Friday, he started saying "fire truck." Over the weekend, he added elephant, out, cow, and bath. Evan has been very encouraging about Liam's growing vocabulary telling him, "That's a good job," and "We're proud of you." Pretty soon I am going to have to add a section on the blog to catalog our favorite Liam-invented words.
