Reading the Leaves

This weekend we finally had the time and weather to begin tackling the leaves in our yard. The Brothers YZ each took a different approach to this autumn chore, and their approaches gives a glimpse into their different personalities.

As you can see in the picture to the left, Evan insisted on wearing his firefighter's uniform from Halloween (for the fifth day in a row) and took his duties assisting Daddy very seriously. Evan does tend to be business-like in many of his interactions and has a very elaborate imagination. He already shows an affinity for studious activities such as reading, workbooks, and flashcards. Despite his small stature, he is usually very brave about trying new things, and he rarely cries.

As you can see in the picture to the right, Liam had a much more carefree attitude toward raking the leaves. At his tender age of nearly nine months, his personality is already emerging. He is a very jolly sort who has a huge smile for everyone and shares hearty laugh often. He loves to clown around playing peek-a-boo and get into mischief with Finbar. While he is much bigger than Evan ever was, he is more sensitive and attached to his Mommy.

Of course, the Brothers YZ also share lots of similarities too. Most of all, they are both extremely determined, inquisitive, charming and energetic little boys who love to be on the go. Together, someday in the not so distant future, they will be able to get into all sorts of trouble.
