The Brothers YZ continue to have a great time on their wild, wild west adventure. Winter has set in upon Sun City Grand, and temperatures have climbed to a mere 70 degrees. The front page of the newspaper advised all to use their heat. We see lots of people bundled up in their fleece, gloves, and scarves while we left ours in the car in Manchester.
On Saturday, we visi
ted the recreational facility in Surprise, which like everything else here is brand new. It included a great playground that had elements of all of Evan's favorite Wachusett region playgrounds and m
ore. Evan had the most fun sitting on little benches under the playground equipment and pretending that we were in the waiting room of the doctor's office. Liam, of course, loved the baby swing. Finbar would have loved this place, as it included two dog parks where Liam looked longingly at all retrievers.
On Sunday, we had th
e ultimate wild, wild west adventure with a trip to Rawhide, a 1880s western town that was featured in Elmo Goes to the Wild West. We took a train ride and stagecoach ride into the "desert" filled with a covered bridge, ghost town, and plenty of wagon wreckage. Evan chose to sit on the top of the stagecoach right behin
d the driver where he commented to Mommy that, "They need to get someone out here to fix all of these wagons." We skipped the pony rides after Daddy witnessed a little girl thrown from one of the cute ponies, and Evan was too short for the burro ride. (And, those burros were adorable, Nana.) Both boys had a chance to sit on Santa's lap, but Liam was much more enthusiastic than Evan. Everyone enjoyed a Hollywood style snowstorm and some rattlesnake at the steakhouse. But, Evan's favorite part of the adventure had to be the mechanical horses and trains that you pay 50 cents for a ride.
Needless to say, the Brothers YZ slept well last night...
