Evan's Hike

This weekend we took advantage of the warmer than average temperatures and lack of snow by making a trip to Wachusett Meadow in Princeton. Evan took us on a hike through a part of the sanctuary where the rest of us had never been. We hiked through some lovely wooded trails over small bridges to some wetlands with boardwalk trails. The whole hike was gorgeous and made even more enjoyable by too cooperative and good-spirited boys. We spotted a few birds including a downy woodpecker for Evan's cub scout project, and the boys took some time to sketch in their pads on a bench on the boardwalk trail. It was the second hike of the weekend where Liam made it almost the whole way with no complaining or requests for a shoulder ride. I see many more hikes in our future!
