A Big Night
Last night Greg planned a really fun evening for us in Rhode Island. First, we went to a Pawtucket Red Sox game, the boys' first professional baseball game. Not surprisingly, the boys' interest in baseball only lasted an inning or so despite the excitement of 3 home runs in the first few innings, but they loved the experience of a baseball game.

Peanuts from the vendor going up and down the aisles. (At first, the boys did not understand that you had to pay for all of the items and raised their hands interest for all items.
Of course, both boys loved the singing of the National Anthem, one of their favorite numbers, all of the yelling and cheering, and eating hot dogs for dinner in the stands. The parents love the affordability of minor league baseball--$5 for the kids' tickets and $2 to park!
After about five innings of baseball and one incident of Liam's getting trapped in his folding seat requiring help from Greg, me, and the dad in the row behind us, we headed off to Waterfire in Providence. We finding free parking about one block away from the action which worked out perfectly for the pocketbook and tired, little legs. We stayed long enough to use the port-a-potties, see the human statues, relax for about twenty minutes along the river, and watch the braziers get refilled with wood. It was a late night, and I'm not sure the boys have ever been out in the dark that long on a spring night. On the way back to the van, Liam asked me if it would still be dark on the way home.
