Liam was very excited about the prospect of having a picnic and visiting the goats at Overlook Farm, but as he usually does on outings around 1 PM, he feel asleep about 2 minutes from our destination.
He was sleeping so soundly that he did not wake up until we arrived at our picnic table. Fortunately, he awoke in a good mood eager to eat his lunch. Here were are at our picnic table utilizing a self-photography technique inspired by Amy McLeer Frangione.
The goats did not disappoint! There were about 25 goats including at least 10 babies including these two tiny ones who loved Liam. He was so excited that he asked me several times to lift him over the fence so he could walk among all of the goats. I didn't want to be banned from this free family farm fun in the future so we stayed on the outside.
After taking our fill of the goats, we walked around to see the rest of the animals including the water buffalo, chickens, bunnies, sheep, and the below pictured camel. 
We'd been to Overlook Farm for festivals and pancake breakfasts in the past, but we'd never just stopped by on a regular day. After this afternoon, I don't know why. Liam and I had a lovely afternoon 15 minutes from home without spending a cent. If the weather cooperates this weekend, we'll try to return to let Evan see the baby goats.
