Taste of Summer

For the past three days, we have been treated to sunny skies and temperatures in the 80s. Greg took the day off on Friday (before leaving us for the rest of the weekend to watch the NFL draft in New York City), and we went to Rhode Island in search of adventure. We had planned to go to the Roger Williams Park Zoo, but the
free pass wasn't available at the library, but we found something better--a construction site at Slater Park!Eventually, the Brothers YZ were able to be drawn away from this action to explore the rest of Slater Park which included a small farm, awesome playground, and rusty military equipment. This picture is for you, Uncle Brian and Grampa!
Unfortunately, the carousel wasn't open, but there were free elephant rides.

The rest of weekend was spent closer to home taking advantage of the warm weather. On Saturday, we took the sprinkler out for the first time. The boys enjoyed chasing each other around before a minor home catastrophe with the spigot occurred.

As usual, Grampa came to the rescue!

On Sunday, we dared to try the spigot in the front yard to give Finbar a much needed bath. Fortunately, the only incident was my Evan's practicing his hose action on me before Finbar. I have to admit that the cool water did feel good.
