Spring Has Sprung

I know that the official first day of spring was weeks ago, but it hasn't felt much like spring in Holden until today. Mommy celebrated spring's arrival with her first iced coffee of the season on her way home from work. The celebration continued with the Brothers YZ and walk to the library playgound where Evan enjoyed playing with the big girls aka kindergarteners.

On the walk to the playground, it was cute to hear Evan pointing things of interest to Liam from the back of the stroller. Liam is so close to talking right now. He seems to be pointing at pictures of dogs in books and saying "uggie." He understands much of the conversation around him, even if the conversation is not directed at him, especially if it involves food. Greg and I cannot wait to hear what is going on in Liam's mind and listen to conversations between the Brothers YZ.

As I look at these pictures I took of the boys today, I cannot believe how much older they are looking. We tried to get some spring portraits done at Target over the weekend to make sure we capture Liam at one year, but Liam would not cooperate. He insisted on smiling as if he was trying to hide upper dentures. We are going to try again on Friday.

Not only are the boys looking older, but they are also making some big developmental strides. Evan can now write most of his name, or actually his Babchi's name plus an M, and knows the sounds of many letters. He continues to doing his preschool workbooks. Liam has started to love listening to books and shows his appreciation for our reading with an adorable round of applause after his favorite books. He also claps after we sing his lullabies at night. (He does not know how terrible our singing is yet.) We are working hard to make sure his developmental skills are up to snuff for his 18 month appointment with the developmental pediatrician. Sort of just kidding...
