Evan and Liam continue to expand their artistic skills this summer, and Greg getting in touch with artistic side too. Evan spent two weeks at Literary Art Adventures, a summer program for first and second graders run by the the school district. Above you will see two of many impressive projects from the program where each day featured a book and a project. Evan got to experiment with all kinds of medium and to display a lot more creativity than the usual art class at school. Liam's interest in art and his abilities have really taken off. In the first picture, you can see that he is starting to draw figures, mostly characters from his favorite movie--Toy Story. If you look closely in the bottom right hand corner of his drawing, you can see that he has written an "L," "i", and "m". He has also been coloring in the lines and chosing the his colors very carefully. And, we cannot leave out Greg's achievements. Inspired by a book on medieval craft projects given to Evan by my parents, Greg has been spending a lot of time crafting a castle out of cardboard. A picture of the masterpiece awaits the final step of painting. I'm going to have buy some gray paint.
