Tidbits from Kindergarten

Here are some amusing things that Evan has reported about kindergarten in his first two months:

1. Mr. Aucoin [the principal] has a small patch of skin on top of his head, aka bald spot.


2. Evan has no idea why he says the Pledge of Allegiance each day. At first, he thought it was prayer. But, he can recite it word for word and thinks that last part is "Thank you, and have a nice day."


3. Gym is called PE, and the PE teacher is called Coach.

4. The appropriate use of glue is very important kindergarten skills, and the teachers have developed many sayings to remind the students of its proper use including, "Dot, dot, not a lot." "Make sure that the glue can breathe first." and "A little dab will do you."

And, this morning Evan told me that "Mr. Norton [the assistant principal] is shorter than you Mommy, but he's growing." In reality, Mr. Norton is very short, but not as short as me. I'm sure that he would be happy to hear that he is still growing.

At the end of the week, we will get a chance to meet with Evan's kindergarten teacher for a conference to hear how he is doing officially. I am nervous and can't wait!
