More Fun at the Heifer Project

It was an insane weekend due to some issues with Evan that I do not care to document in this blog. (I hope that in a few weeks, the whole experience has been a distant memory.) Despite these issues, we did take a trip to the Fall Festival at the Heifer Project, and we had a great time.

We took a horse-drawn hayride to the pumpkin patch and vegetable garden. Evan and Liam were very interested in the vegetables growing, but they had a hard time understanding why they could not pick the vegetables like at Grampa's farm.

Liam LOVED the hay maze that featured baby farm animals at every turn including goats, rabbits, sheep, and a calf. He was very concerned when the animals weren't eating, and he would pull hay from the bales as shown in the video below and try to feed the animals. Like at Tougas Farm a few weeks ago, his favorites were the goats, and I had to make sure that he didn't climb into the pens with them.

We also toured the Global Village where they have displays from different countries including replicas of native homes, culture, and agriculture. Evan learned how his mother's addiction (coffee) is made, and he even assisted in grinding the freshly roasted beans.
