The Brothers YZ had a busy, varied weekend with a visit from Uncle Gary, soccer game, and Memory Walk. Visit from Uncle Gary
Uncle Gary made his first visit to the Pioneer House on Saturday evening. The boys hadn't seen Uncle Gary for a long time, but they quickly warmed up and treated him to a game of Alphabet Bingo, assaults from various toy tools, and two episodes of Davey and Goliath.
Soccer GameEvan had his second soccer game on Saturday. To pictures of his first game, visit Uncle Brian's blog, www.cheapgreenandhappy.blogspot.com. (My camera's batteries were dead.) Evan is on a team called the Los Angeles Sol (yellow) with eight other five year olds. On Saturdays, he practices for 30 minutes and plays a small game for 30 minutes. For the game, they play three against three on a miniature field with a miniature goal that is largely orchestrated by the coaches. No score is kept.
This week's game was not as successful as last week's where he scored the first goal. He did score one goal after stealing the ball from a teammate, but he spent a lot of the game laying on he ground and engaged in a little trash-talk. He seemed happiest when sitting on the sidelines surrounded by his two classmates, Holly and Theresa, eating orange slices. See below. We'll see what next week brings.
