Pre-Christmas Buzz

We have been so busy with the pre-Christmas buzz complicated by car and weather woes that I haven't had time for a new post. I wish I had some better pictures to share, but our camera has not been very cooperative. Hopefully, Uncle Brian can take a look at it on Christmas so we'll have some good pictures on the big day.

Here's some of the fun that we've had. On Tuesday, Evan and Liam saw their first movie on the "big screen." The library was showing Elmo's World Home for the Holidays where we all finally learned what Kwanzaa is all about. Both Evan and Liam impressed us with their attention span for the showing. Evan was most amazed by the fact that they showed the movie in the dark, and he kept yawning very loudly throughout the movie.

On Friday, we attended the Christmas party at St. Mary's PreSchool with plenty of guests in tow--Nana, Grampa, and Uncle Brian. All the kids were wearing their majamas and homemade antlers. (Evan who has a fondness for costumes kept his antlers on until dinner time.) Evan and his classmates performed "Jingle Bells" and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" on the stage, and Santa made a visit and gave out books. It was so adorable that sentimental Mommy could not help shedding some tears.

It's been a low key weekend for the Brothers YZ as they rest up and clean up for Christmas. Liam is getting very close to taking his first steps. He now stands very confidently without holding on to anything and looks as though he is thinking very seriously about walking. Evan has taken some great strides in his knowledge of letters and his ability to write some letters and draw specific items. We expect to be sharing lots of milestones in 2008.
