Evan and I participated in a wonderful annual event at our church, Palm Saturday. It is a half day program that teaches kids about Holy Week and celebrates Easter with hands-on activities that include the secular (Easter egg hunt, decorating cookies, coloring eggs) and religious (stripping of palms with the Altar guild, learning songs, Prayer Walk).

The highlight of the day has to be the Prayer Walk where re-enact important parts of Holy Week with Jesus' journey through Jerusalem complete with palms and real donkey, the Last Supper, and the tomb (aka the basement of the Parish House) with surprise visit from an angel.
Our church school coordinator, Susan Bastardo, puts together the most amazing programs for our children. I hope that I am able to live up to her standards when I take on teaching church school next year.
