Arts Weekend

The arts were the focus of the last weekend. On Friday, Davis Hill Elementary School presented its Arts and Science Night, another shining moment for our neighborhood school. The students' art was displayed throughout the school. For full day kindergarten, a example of each project was hung. Evan's straw painting, an unusual abstract for him, was chosen.

There was much more going on at Art and Science Night than the art display. In the art room, the kids could do projects with clay including a try at the pottery wheel. In the gym, Mr. Vincent was hosting a square dance. Music concerts were held. There was even karaoke with Ms. Prouty, the legendary retired kindergarten teacher.

As usual, Evan was the center of a lot of female attention from his fellow kindergarteners all the way to the fifth grade girls. Below he is hanging out with a favorite friend from preschool days and now kindergarten:

On Saturday, we took in a show with Pumpernickel Puppets at the Paxton Library--perfect for a rainy day. The show was Sir George and the Dragon. Both boys were busting a gut laughing. These Pumpernickel Puppet shows are amazing! This guy knows exactly how to keep the attention of small kids and involves them in the show. We never miss a chance to see the Pumpernickel Puppets.
