Long Time, No Blog

As my small contingent of regular readers have noticed, I have not updated my blog in more than 3 weeks. For those of you who do not follow (or endure) New England weather, Central Massachusetts was hit by a powerful and devastating ice storm on December 11th and 12th. The storm caused a hole in the ceiling of our family room, ripped the electrical, cable, and telephone wires off of our home, broke some of our of our fence, and took down many large limbs from our trees. We were without power for five days, and we still do not have internet, cable or phone. But, we were definitely very fortunate. Many of our neigbors sustained greater damage to their property and went without power for much longer. And, more importantly, we are very fortunate to have caring and generous family nearby who opened their warm home, cooked and delicious food, hot water, and electricity to us. Thank you Brian, Meg, and Henry! I also must mention the home repair skills of my father who braved falling chunks of ice to climb a ladder and temporarily patch the hole in our roof. With the amount of snow and rain that we had post-ice storm, we really appreciate his help. I will also write some further posts about the holiday season with the Brothers YZ which include a video of Evan's performance at the Christmas pageant. Hopefully, that is encouragement enough to check back at a blog that has been dormant for so long.
