On Christmas Eve, Evan performed in his first Christmas pageant at St. Francis Church. This pageant is pretty well known in our area, as it features live animals from the Heifer Project in the church. Evan's role in the pagent was a "star" who sings and signs "Away in Manager." Ever the modest preschooler, he insisted that he was "the star" of the pageant, and in the eyes of his admirers, he was. Rehearsals for the performance were limited due to the weather, but Evan did seem to get the hang of most of the signs. As you will see in the video, he spent the first two verses of the song entranced by the real live baby Jesus. (No one told him that there would be a real baby. It's a good thing that the two goats and gigantic sheep weren't at the altar yet.) You will also see the effects of and hear Liam's enthusiasm for his brother's performance. It was difficult to film the song and keep Liam from joining his brother in front of the church. You can also hear Cousin Henry's appreciation for the performance in the background as well as Liam's way of pronouncing Evan's name, "Ya-Um." Enjoy.
