Today was the first day of skating lessons. Evan took lessons last year for the first time, and he made great strides in learning how to skate. Liam had never been on the ice before. Greg and I had steeled ourselves for the worst, as both boys were expressing discontent at the idea of lessons. Fortunately, once we were on our way, their attitude improved, and they were very cooperative throughout the lessons and all that was involved. It didn't take Evan long to get his skating legs back. His balance is so much better, and he is starting to do more than walk on the ice. Liam, along with the rest of the pre-tots, spent most of the lesson sitting on the ice trying to get up. He still came off the ice with a smile on his face and stated, "It was more like slipping than skating." Hopefully, the next class he'll learn how to get up on his own.
